Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lincocin. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Lincocin is given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. Contact your health care provider if you have any questions.

Important safety information:
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Lincocin before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
Lincocin only works against bacteria; it does not treat viral infections (eg, the common cold).
Be sure to use Lincocin for the full course of treatment. If you do not, the medicine may not clear up your infection completely. The bacteria could also become less sensitive to this or other medicines. This could make the infection harder to treat in the future.
Long-term or repeated use of Lincocin may cause a second infection. Tell your doctor if signs of a second infection occur. Your medicine may need to be changed to treat this.
A severe skin reaction (Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis) may happen. It can cause very bad health problems that may not go away, and sometimes death. Get medical help right away if you have signs like red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin (with or without fever); red or irritated eyes; or sores in your mouth, throat, nose, or eyes.
Lincocin has benzyl alcohol in it. Do not use it in NEWBORNS or INFANTS. It may cause serious and sometimes fatal side effects. If you have questions, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
Lab tests may be performed while you use Lincocin. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
Use Lincocin with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects, especially diarrhea. Monitor carefully for changes in bowel frequency.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Lincocin while you are pregnant. Lincocin is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Lincocin.
